The Premium UK Muay Thai Gear Brand
GYM NASTY is a Muay Thai fitness clothing and accessories brand and online retailer, based in the United Kingdom. Making life easier for athletes, no matter where you are on your fitness journey.
Created in 2020 by James McManus to develop high end performance products that would stand the test of time and stay with you throughout your fitness journey.
His weight loss journey hasn’t been easy and he’s used his fair share of products throughout his fitness journey. Once COVID-19 hit and harsh lockdown restrictions were placed on us, James knew he had to get serious about his fitness.
Muay Thai Weightloss Journey
The daily training of weights, cardio and Muay Thai led James to find an even bigger love for sports and how sports clothing and accessories can enhance our workouts and help us take our athleticism more seriously.
Going from 24 stone to around 14 in a couple of years has been a massive achievement for James, but the progress doesn’t stop there. As anyone knows that has been involved in any type of sport, be it martial arts, lifting, it starts to become a big part of your life, that’s where GYM NASTY comes in.
We live to develop products to make your life easier so you can train nasty and live fresh.
Throughout his weightloss journey, James tried multiple clothing brands and training gear. Finding that very quickly prints would peel, colours started to fade and clothes would start to smell.
This really took over his weightloss journey, having to constantly buy new clothes for training whilst trying to be proud of his constantly changing body as he lost the weight.
Training Muay Thai in Thailand
After months of testing, designing and developing the brand, James finally created the perfect Muay Thai gear.
With premium Muay Thai gear being at the forefront of his vision, James had developed long-lasting Muay Thai apparel that not only paid homage to the sport of Muay Thai, but was affordable, long-lasting and more importantly, that looked amazing!
The unique style of design that we go for takes inspiration from streetwear and the deep culture of Muay Thai.
Once the first order was placed, James jetted off to Thailand for the first time in his life. After training hard for two year, James wanted to test himself in the homeland of Muay Thai.
With his suitcase full of fresh GYM NASTY Muay Thai gear, James visited some of the most famous Muay Thai gyms in Thailand to put GYM NASTY Muay Thai gear to the test.
6AM runs, 2, 2 hour training sessions per day with sparring and clinching, it's safe to say that James really wanted to put our Muay Thai gear to the test and he certainly did.
The GYM NASTY journey continues...
In 2023 GYM NASTY completed its first successful year of being a brand. Launching multiple collections and more recently a women's Muay Thai collection to support female Muay Thai fighters.
The brand continues to grow, reaching over 100,000 Muay Thai fans around the world monthly. GYM NASTY has grown a strong community of fighters and Muay Thai fans on social media, amassing thousands of supporters across multiple social media platforms.
As the GYM NASTY brand continues to grow, James reinvests any profits made back into the brand to develop the brand even further and support Muay Thai fighters and fans around the world.
